Canlis Restaurant

Alex now fully clothed and dressed smartly enters the restaurant hand in hand with Alexis. He approaches the greeter.

Greeter: Good Evening. Welcome to Canlis. Do you have a reservation?

Alex: We're with the O'Ryan party. Table for five. Six O'Clock?

Greeter: Of course.... right this way please.

Alexis, now wearing the dress Alex had given her, looks around nervously.

Alexis: I hope Colin didn't get cold feet... or dad either.

The greeter takes them to a table towards the back. Ashley is already there

Ashley:"'ey....wheres Colin?"

Alex searches for a reasonable excuse that doesn't center around the four day sex session they just had or Colin possibly getting cold feet.

Alex: Well..... Amber tends to take her sweet time.... getting dressed..... that's probably it.

Alexis hugs Ashley.

Alexis: What do you think of the place?

Ashley returns the hug
Ashley:"I could 'ave done with something a little more low key, but it's nice."

he glances at Alex
Ashley:"Well I 'ope 'e gets 'ere soon....
Anyways, you are dating me daughter?"

Alex politely nods.

Alex: Yes sir, I am. I'm not sure if I had a chance to introduce myself properly last time we met.... I'm Alex Edwards.

Alex holds out his hand.

Ashley shakes his hand
Ashley:"Well, I trust you're treating me daughter well then."

Alex can't help but smile.

Alex: I'm certainly doing my best, but like I told her mother, Sir.... I think it's Alexis who should be the judge of how well I'm treating her.

Alexis can't help the content smile.

Alexis: Oh, he's treating me very well.

Ashley simply smiles and sits down
Ashley:"So tell me Alex, you following that old Edwards tradition? Legacy and all that stuff Ewan talked about back in the day?"

Alex holds out Alexis' chair for her to sit. He then sits himself.

Alex: Not exactly.... I was raised to be the Seventh Generation..... I can't say I was ever too enthusiastic about having to try and fill my dad's shoes.... Not that it's even an issue anymore. I've decided against pursuing a career in pro wrestling.

Ashley:"Wow I'm sure yer father took that very well...So wot do you want to be?"

Alex: To be perfectly honest with you Mr O'Ryan..... I'm not 100% decided yet. I still teach at the Icebox.... which pays surprisingly well. It wasn't entire my decision to quit wrestling..... my Doctor was rather insistent.

Ashley:"The Icebox? That place is still around? You suffered an injury that bad at yer age? Bloody shame that is."

Alex: I suffered this particular injury before I was born sir.

Alex coughs and takes a sip of water.

There is an awkward moment of silence
Ashley:"...Oh. Uh 'ows the rest of the Edwards family?"

Alex: Very well.... thankyou.... Amanda's happy, healthy. My mum and my dad haven't really changed at all in the last 18 years from what I can tell.

Ashley:"So 'ow you two meet then?"


a waiter comes up to the table

Waiter:"Can I get any of you a drink?"

Alexis: We met at the Icebox, the old one, in Tampa.

She looks up at the waiter.

Alexis: Would you have Vanilla Coke by any chance?

Waiter:"I'm sorry we don't carry that in the machine. We have regular coke though, if that is alright?"

Alexis shrugs.

Alexis: That's fine.

Behind the waiter's back she mouths "damnit"

The waiter turns to Alex
Waiter:"And you sir?"

Alex: Coke's fine for me as well thankyou.
