The Beaches of Bermuda...

Amber: It was...fine. Now...for dessert. What the hell is going on here...please tell me.

Lilith:"Business. Just business. Now get some rest. I'm sure the food will take care of that..."

Amber starts to feel woozy

"Good girl."

Amber: Y...ou....B..i...t...ch....

Lilith:"Sweet dreams sweetheart. And don't worry, I'm going to take good care of Colin tonight."

she giggles as she walks out the door, locking it behind her

Meanwhile down the hall, Colin is tied to a chair.
Lucian stares at him

Lucian:"You know...I didn't want to do this. Hell, you were like a son to me. The son I lost."

Colin says nothing/b]

Lucian:"But...you did cross a line."

Colin:"What? Your stupid egg? I was following orders."

Lucian:"There were no orders given! You know that. Heh...you think this is about some gemstone? No. This is about you crossing people you shouldn't."

[b]Lucian walks to the door

Colin:"Still going by Lucian huh?"

he stops and walks over, punching Colin in the gut. Colin spits up blood

Colin:"Aw, I touched a nerve."

Lucian:"You're lucky Im a gamer at heart. You might get to go soon."

Colin:"What about Amber?"

Lucian:"Oh she'll stay. You took something of value from me. I'm just returning the favor."

Hours later Amber wakes up here

an IV drip is in her left arm. Lucian sits in a chair watching her with a look of concern in his eyes

Lucian:"You had an episode my dear. Nothing serious, but a change of scenery would do you good. As soon as the doctors check on you, you are free to roam the island. Under supervision of course."

Amber: And Colin?

Lucian:"He...has his own arrangements. I believe Lilith is taking care of him as we speak."

Amber: They used to be....together...didn't they? When he worked for you, right?

Lucian stands walking over to the window

Lucian:"Lilith is my daughter, by marriage. God rest her mothers soul. But I always wanted a son. Somebody to take over for me. An heir. Due to my own impotence, that would never happen. Until I met Colin. There was something about him. Lilith saw it to. I hoped they would...well..."

he grips his cane tight with both hands

"Then he crossed a line he shouldn't have."

Amber: Lillith....and him were....engaged?

"There were going to be. It was all in the works."

Amber: Oh....I see.....what happened?

Lucian:"I told you. He crossed a line he shouldn't have. We gave him everything he had wanted. The family he wanted. A father he could be proud of and a woman to take care of him. We would have given him everything he desired, and all that was mine would have one day been his."

Amber: You keep saying that.....but what line did he cross?...and what the hell does this have to do with me?

Lucian:"He rejected and tried to sabotage us. And you...well I could let you go in an instant. But I think you are far better suited staying here. Tell me...is Colin honest to you?"

Amber: What do you mean, honest? Has he told me everything?

Lucian:"Well...I think it's pretty obvious he never mentioned me. What else did he neglect to mention? Hmm? One wonders."

Amber: What are you driving at, Mr. Noire?

Lucian:"This isn't the first bit of trouble Colin has been in that you are aware of, is it my dear Ms.Duffy?"

Amber: Well.....no....

Lucian:"And is it logical, my dear, to assume that not many people (if any) fall in such serious trouble just...
he snaps his fingers
"like that? Without something having been done on their part?"

Amber: I suppose. Colin's never been forthcoming with his past that much.

Lucian:"Well...maybe he did all good things for that year and he's simply very modest and doesnt want to brag about his contribution to society.......Or..."

Amber: ....or...?
