A very OP Christmas Part 1...

Alexis: I don't exactly... but isn't that one of the things they notice in ultrasounds, if a baby has their umbilical cord wrapped around their neck?

Colin:"...They are also suppose to pick up four babies when there is..."
he smirks
Colin:"Maybe he was smart enough to get the chord off of the neck before the cameras showed up...In which case, you might have the makings of a heel on your hands here..."

Alexis laughs.

Alexis: Anything is possible at this point.

Colin:"Heh I suppose so..."

He puts the warrior baby down and picks up Nathalie, prepping another bottle. For a moment he looks somewhat dismayed

Alexis notices the look and nearly panics.

Alexis: What is it?

Colin looks over at Alexis

Colin:"Huh? Oh no nothing I was just...just thinking is all."

Alexis: What were you thinking about?

Colin:"Its not exactly positive thinking, you got enough going on to have to worry about my concerns of 'maybe'"

Alexis: If you're looking at my kid and thinking "maybe" I'd like to know what you're thinking about.

Colin:"Its just...I can't but help shake the feeling that this is the one and only time I'm going to get to spend this kind of time with them without having...people...breathing down my neck watching every move I make. Like I'm bad for their health or something. I mean...I would love to sit them sometime. Just me and Amber...but...gah...Am I just being paranoid? I...I can't help but think that I'm not...I want to be wrong about this, I really do..."

Alexis sighs.

Alexis: You know what happened on the way here. And that was to a total stranger who was just being a jerk. If anyone on Alex's side of the family didn't trust you with your nieces and nephews you wouldn't have been allowed in the same building much less holding and feeding them. It might take a little bit for us to let them out of our sight at all, but when we do you are definitely on the list for babysitting duty.

Colins face angers a little bit at the mention of what happened earlier, the cogs in his brain obviously turning.
Colin:"..."
he sighs
Colin:"Thanks sis.."
he puts Alexis daughter down and picks up Conner
Colin:"Has dad got to see them yet?"

Out of all the babies, Connor seems the happiest in Colin's arms. He takes to the bottle immediately with a look of supreme contentment on his face.

Alexis: I don't know. I haven't seen him since I was in the act of giving birth.

Colin:"I'm sure he has a lot on his mind. I know he's around the hospital."

Alexis: Well, since it seems we'll be here awhile, I'm sure he'll get the chance today if he hasn't already.

Colin:"You do realize at some point they are going to have to boot you out of here right?"

Alexis: Of course. Whether or not Alex has woken up might complicate things just a little.

Colin glances over at Micah for a moment then back at his sister
Colin:"Ah I...didn't think you knew about that..."

Alexis notices the look, and her eyes narrow slightly.

Alexis: Was I not supposed to?

Colin notices the change in expression in her face

Colin:"Alexis, you just gave birth to FOUR babies. Obviously its understandable if you are emotionally and physically drained. The last thing that anybody wanted to do was give you another thing to be worried about. When you got rested you would have been told what had happened, without risking you not being able to get the kind of rest that you NEED."

Alexis makes a face.

Alexis: I'm getting rest. I'm literally attached to the bed.

Colin:"Stress free rest Alexis. You had enough on your mind as is with everything going on BEFORE what happened with Alex..."

Alexis: I don't even know if that's possible anymore. Something always seems to happen.

Colin sighs
Colin:"Believe me, you're preaching to the choir on that one."

Alexis: I'm afraid to imagine what could possibly happen when we all get out of the hospital... this time....
