Amber:"I know...maybe I'm just being needy?"

Alexis shakes her head.

Alexis: I don't think so.

She looks at Amber for a moment

Alexis: You are hoping it goes further with Colin!

Amber blushes

Amber:"Maybe..."

she looks at Alexis

Amber:"Do you...think any less of me for what I do for a living?"..Or...did...?

Alexis: What are you talking about?

Amber glances over towards Raquel, then back at Alexis

Amber:"I...know your aunt quite well. Her being my boss and all.."

A look of confusion crosses Alexis' face, then you can almost see the light bulb turn on.

Alexis: Wha... Oh!

She chuckles off her surprise.

Alexis: Well, as long as you're not charging him....

Amber:"Heh,Only up until the point that I agreed he wasn't just a client...
So...that doesn't bother you?"

Alexis: Not as long as you really are serious about him. Not counting all the drama that's been going on, I've never seen him happier than when he's with you.

Amber smiles and gives Alexis a hug
Amber:"Thank you...Wait...you need a dress right? I had this client...he's a dress maker. Italian guy, really nice. I can probably get you a deal on a custom fit number. And something for the wedding night too."

Alexis returns the hug.

Alexis: Yeah... thanks!

Ewan walks into the bar via the back. He sees alexis, looking specifically at her left hand. He looks serious and takes a seat at a table in the corner of the room. Alex approaches him.

Alex: Dad.... you're here?

Ewan: I am.... I take it that what I've heard is true.

Alex: Yes.... Alexis and I are getting married.

Ewan: I see.

Alex: Aren't you going to congratulate us?

Ewan: Not yet.... Alexis still hasn't met our family's.... approval.

Amber looks over at Alex and his dad and turns Alexis, uncertainty in her voice

Amber:"I'm sure everything will be alright with you..."


Raquel looks over

Raquel:"Oh my goodness, Ewan Edwards?"

Alexis: I knew this wasn't going to be easy....

She walks over to the table.

Alexis: Hello Mr. Edwards... what exactly do I need to do to meet your approval?

Ewan looks towards Alexis and gestures for her to sit down.

Ewan: Nice to see you again Alexis..... you can call me Ewan if you'd like.

..... so tell me.... why did you agree to marry Alex?

Alexis sits, half nervous, and half smiling, thinking about Alex.

Alexis: I just asked Alex if I could stay at his place at first just so I could have a place to stay....

She giggles.

Alexis: Ok, maybe it didn't hurt my decision that I had a bit of a crush on him.... And when I got there, Alex was nothing but a gentleman, making sure I was comfortable there. I couldn't tell you where the line was, and maybe it wasn't a line exactly, but I went from just staying at his place to living with him. When we weren't at one arena or another or I wasn't with Micah... cause I was dating him at the time... I was with Alex, and I was happy. Micah saw it and called me on it... called Alex on it too. Until then I had no idea that Alex had any sort of feelings for me, or even really that I felt the same way. But actually being with him makes me even happier, and all I want is to be with him, no matter where, no matter what. It just seems natural to be with him, so why wouldn't I have said yes?

Ewan smiles.

Ewan: I see.... That story sounds somewhat familiar.

He looks at the ring on Alexis finger and laughs slightly.

Ewan: Do you intend to take our name Alexis?

Alexis smiles.

Alexis: Yes, I do.

Ewan looks serious.

Ewan: Good.... now I'm sure you're aware that there is a certain... responsibility that comes with being an Edwards. I remember Jillian found the idea quite... daunting.

Alexis looks between Ewan and Alex, suddenly nervous again.

Alexis: What is that?

Ewan laughs.

Ewan: I'm simply referring to the fact that if you are an Edwards.... you are a representitive of our family.... I simply wish to ensure that you understand what it means to be an Edwards. So I would like to invite you to come to our home... see where Alex grew up. Perhaps indulge us in participating in a silly little tradition we have when one of us gets married.

Alex looks concerned.

Alex: Dad. Don't.

Ewan: Come on Alex... Your mother did it without hesitation.... you don't think your fiance is up to it?

Alex: She is more than capable.

Ewan: Then there is no need for your concern.

Alex sighs.

Alex: .... It is her choice.

Alexis: May I ask what this "silly little tradition" is?

Alex doesn't look happy.

Alex: Part of the tradition is not knowing what it is beforehand..... so you don't have time to..... prepare.

Ewan laughs.

Ewan: Don't be so dramatic son. You mother had a lot of fun at her initiation.

There is a gleam in Alexis' eyes.

Alexis: Fine. I'll do it.

Ewan looks impressed.

Ewan: Excellent. I look forward to your visit. It'll be.... fun.

He stands and hugs Alexis.

Ewan: I'm sure you two still have some.... celebrating to do..... so I'll leave you to it.

He looks at Alexis' hand one last time.

Ewan: Take good care of that ring.

He turns and leaves.

Alexis blinks and stares at the departing Ewan... then at Alex.

Alexis: That went better than expected....
