Alex and Alexis's Wedding.... Part 1

Alexis stares out over the Chicago skyline from the stateroom that is set aside as her changing room.

Alexis: Is this really happening?

Moira, who is helping Alexis with her dress, stops and looks at Alexis a little oddly.

Moira: You're gettin' cold feet?

Alexis: No, not at all... it's just hard to believe it's already here....

There is a knock at the door...

Ben: May I come in?

Alexis looks over at the door.

Alexis: As long as you're not Alex, yeah.

Ben walks in wearing a beautiful custom talored tux with a couple of Romeo and Juliet cigars in his breast pocket. He smiles at seeing Alexis's dress. He walks over and gives her a kiss. Naomi, who is doing Alexis's makeup smirks a bit, knowing she has to redo the smudge...

Ben: Alexis, you look stunning, hon. I just wanted you to know that the guests from the Drake have started to arrive....so we are about an hour from showtime.

Alexis smiles, blushing.

Alexis: Thank you....

She looks somewhere in between excited and nervous.

Alexis: An hour... today's gone really quickly.

Ben: You have nothing to worry about, Alexis. Your future father in law and I have taken care of pretty much everything...but...for my part...I signed all the checks and notes 'Ashley O'Ryan'.

Ben smiles...

Ben: He's your father...he should be able to enjoy this day with you. I just...assisted. That's all.

Meanwhile in the other stateroom Alex and his groomsmen are getting ready. Alex still isn't dressed but he's busy tying his hair back into a neat ponytail. Ewan enters dressed as smartly as would be expected.

Alex: Looking good dad.

Ewan: Thankyou son.

Ewan pulls out a beautiful..... but rather intimidating straight razor.

..... sit down.

Alex gulps.

Alex: Don't tell me there's some other weird bloodletting ritual you didn't tell me about.

Ewan: No..... I just will not have my son getting married looking like a hobo..... now sit.

Gabriel and Jayden are enjoying a cup of coffee and Jay looks around the stateroom...

Jayden: God, Uncle...you and Ben didn't spare any expense on this...did you?

Gabe: I've been meaning to ask you Alex.....why a boat?

Alex replies as Ewan proceeds to give his son a real shave.

Alex: This is where I brought Lexi on our first date..... Dinner on a private riverboat on the lake...... it meant more to her than I thought it would.

Ewan: Yeah.... Your mother insisted we serve sushi at our wedding for a similar reason.

Alex: Too much information dad.

Ewan: How do you think you came into existence son? The stork?

Alex: Moving on..... which one of you is going to.... ahem "catch the bouquet"..... aside from Micah obviously....

Ewan: My money's on Jayden.

Jayden: No...actually the men get you new wife's ....slip... Alex...

Ewan laughs.

Ewan: Um..... Jayden..... don't blush just yet..... we're actually going to be going with the English tradition. Alex gets to throw Lexi's...... garter to the boys.

Jayden: Oh, that's how it works? God the last time I caught garters...

Gabe: Eugh...stop it...

Jayden: What?

Gabe: You are getting to be as bad as Alex...

Ewan: And so will you sooner or later Gabriel.

Alex laughs.

Alex: I'm sure Nikki's taking real good care of Gabe now they're living together.

Gabe: Oh, come on. This is me! I'm not going to get that bad. Beside, I'm sure Micah can....

...um...where the hell is Micah?

Back in the Drake Hotel...Amanda and Micah just start to wake up...

Micah: Mmmm...I think we're late hon....

Amanda rolls over sleepily.

Amanda: Huh? Oh yeah right.... the thing..... the maid of honor thing..... the reason we have the free room thing...... OK..... I'm getting up......ow.


Alex: Hey dad.... where's mum? I haven't seen her today.

Ewan: Oh she's here..... I think she's just..... composing herself..... today is...... a day of mixed blessings for her.

In the girls' stateroom, a frustrated Nikki calls Amanda.

Alexis: Does that mean dad's the one paying for it?

Amanda looks at her phone.

Amanda: Shit.

Amanda picks up the phone.

.....hi hi hi.... yeah I know I'm late..... I didn't get my wake up call..... I'm on my way.

Nikki: About bloody time! Micah keep you up late or something?

Amanda: Technically wouldn't it be me keeping him...... up?

Micah starts to roll out of bed with a smile....

Micah: Well...you were on top most of the afternoon.....

...and evening....

Amanda glares at Micah.

Amanda: Hush you.... I don't have time..... I have to get myself ready and get a bride ready.... we cant just roll out of bed and throw un a tux like you guys...... things need to be plucked and shaved and plumped.

She grabs her things and starts heading out the door.

Nikki: Well, Mandy's finally on her way... according to her she overslept.

Alexis glances over at Nikki, just to get her face pulled back by Naomi, who's still fixing the smudge.

Micah: Plucked and plumped?....didn't we already do that, too?

He starts to put on his tux...as well as make sure his gift to Alexis is secure in his pocket...

Amanda looks back.

Amanda: No..... you're thinking fucked and humped...... I'll see you there sweetie..... no making out with any drunk bridesmaids..... unless it's me.
