The Edwards Family's Herfordshire Estate Part 2

Nikki: Oh, so you are the UFC fighter.

Alexis: Be careful Nikki. He'll forget your name the moment he puts you down.

Gabe makes a face at the couple...

Gabe: No no, nothing like that. It was an accident....I'm just helping her back to her room. Get going you two. Alex...I'll you guys in Minnesota, yeah?

He continues to walk Nikki down to her room...

Gabe: God, my cousin and his fiance....oh...yes, I am the UFC fighter...

Nikki looks back down the hall, then up at the man carrying her.

Nikki: He's your cousin? Heh, he was right, small world. She's my cousin.

Gabe: Wait, Alexis is your cousin? Yeah...it is a small world. That's crazy.

They walk a little ways more...

Gabe: So...broken leg...how did that happen?

Nikki: Jumping off the roof of a building on a dare.

Gabe: Oh, this I gotta hear....Is this your room?

Paddy debates just leaving Erin's room and continuing his rounds but something stops him. He isn't certain what. Gut feeling...or a foolish need to be of some help

Paddy:"Sure you don't want anything? Extra pillow? Blanket? Something to drink?"

Erin Buries her face in her pillow.

Erin: No.... thanks.

Alexchuckles slightly before turning to Alexis.

Alex: Shall we get out of here before we meet any more distant relatives. You hungry?

Paddy:"...Alright I'll see if you need anything later on then."

he reach for the door and glances over his shoulder and smiles

Paddy:"You know, I don't remember if we ever met before...But I am grateful you don't completely resemble Ewan."

Erin: Thank you for your efforts. But if you speak ill of my brother again and I'll pull my ass out of this bed just long enough to make sure you don't live long enough to be a doctor.

Paddy smiles warmly

Paddy:"I see you did get the same fiery temper of your brother though. Please I meant zero disrespect. I have met your husband. A number of years back. I believe it was a place named Duffy's. But all I meant was that I'm glad to see the women born with Edwards have a lovely feminine charm to them.
But if I still insulted, my apologies. It was not my intent."

Erin: What's your name Mr Intern?

Paddy:"Birth name is Patrick. But everybody calls me Paddy."

Erin: And your surname Patrick?

Paddy hesitates for a moment then quietly answers

Paddy:"O'Ryan."

Erin's eyes narrow.

Erin: Ashley's brother? .... Ewan's told me about you.... you're the one who's in love with Jillian....

Paddy sighs, not knowing completely where this is going but knowing it could go very wrong

Paddy:"Yeah Ashley's brother...and that...that was a long long time ago."

Erin sinks back into her pillow, rolling her eyes.

Erin: Uh-huh.... sure.... long time ago..... gotcha.....

Paddy clears his throat

Paddy:"Well regardless of however I've felt...I've moved on."

Erin: You mean she turned you down.... right?

Paddy:"Meaning I knew it was likely best to keep my damn feelings to myself and stop writing her. Besides she had Ewan. There was no place from some tattooed man sitting in a jail cell sending her letters...So I turned my attention to trying to read as many medical books as I could get my hands on. A difficult task. I couldn't exactly go to the book store."

Erin: Good for you... but if it's any consolation.... it has nothing to do with you..... Ewan is.....

Erin starts sobbing.

.... the most dedicated and loving husband in the world.....

Paddy cautiously approaches the bed

Paddy:"I...I'm grateful that he is. Really."

he offers a kleenex

Paddy:"Is everything alright?"

Erin buries her face in the pillow.

Erin: Yeah... I'm fine.

Paddy sighs

Paddy:"I wish I believed that. But well...people who aren't fine usually don't bury their faces in pillows and cry..."
